Over the past two years, I have read a lot of Indian Authors. So, when I get a chance to review an upcoming Indian author, I do it with pleasure. SV Divvaakar has written The Winner’s Curse under his pen name Dee Walker. I was pleasantly surprised when I received the book with a personal note.
Story: The possibilities of Technology & Human Psyche
The stories of several characters are at times gripping. The central plot has been very well thought through. Though I didn’t really enjoy the initial few pages, I found myself wanting to complete the book, since I was eager to know how this story is going to end.
Central Characters: Not completely justified
The story revolves around a lot of ifs and technological advances. Characters are woven around their ambitions and are relate-able. However, I didn’t like how the author portrayed the central characters. I found myself asking many questions.
The book is a light read. What I like the most is the climax. The plot is fresh, however it could have been written better. I found that the book ended abruptly.
