Jad Se Judein: My take on the Mohit Chauhan Song

Before I begin, let me clarify that this post is not a sponsored one and I am writing it out of my own will since the video and song has really touched my soul. The video starts with a short humming of Mohit Chauhan.. his voice is mesmerizing. His voice is stupendously amazing! There are so many words to describe his voice and emotions that he portrays through the lyrics. The song, Jad Se Judein, is one such song that touches your heart and takes you down the memory lane. At first when I watched it, an array of emotions […]

Jamrung- The Waterfall Valley

Bored of spending the weekend in the city, my friends and I decided to spend the last weekend away from the city. We wanted to explore a new place, somewhere we could have a care-free time, away from the city crowd. A friend suggested we should go to Jamrung, a village located 12kms away from Karjat. It took us close to 4 hours in total to reach the village. It should normally take less than 3 hours. The delay being caused by traffic and bad roads, but let’s not get into that! Once we reached the village, we stayed at a family […]

I know I’m reading this book, way too late but it’s worth the wait for me! Here are my views on this amazing book: The plot: There is no ‘plot’ as such. The writer talks about each character with much passion. Each section tells you a story about a different Bombay. The Bombay aspect really conected with me. Every Mumbai resident knows how Bombay is much better than Mumbai. We all miss that. Each section gives you a sneak peek into ‘Bombay Unknown’. Get ready for some astounding revealations, when you are reading this! Suketu Mehta is now one of […]

Battle for Bittora~ Anuja Chauhan

I loved Anuja’s first book, the Zoya Factor. So was excited to read  this one. The book is about politics and the tactics used by contestants to win the election. Every girl can relate to the protagonist, Jinni  and her girly problems. The book manages to keep you hooked though at places I felt it was little slow. The budding romance between Jinni and her opponent ZAK makes the reader go awwww.. The story is based on an election held at Pavit Pradesh, a fictitious state in India. The book gives the reader an insight of  campaigning of elections. Anuja […]

A Mumbaikar's Life: Travelling in a Local Train

Like most Mumbaikars (I actually prefer Bombay to Mumbai, just scared of MNS and Shiv Sena loyalists) I DREAD travelling by train. Until fate played its part and I HAD TO travel by train to WORK. The thought that first came into my mind, how am I supposed to cope up with travelling in trains when I am just not used to? I had to deal with it. So be it! So, here it goes.. some of my observations. Update: It’s been close to four years now, the following observations still holds true. And I have added a few more too. The Class […]
